Small Groups
Most people at Eight Oaks are in a small group, and it's where people get to know each other. There are eight groups right now, each meeting weekly in a home in Aurora or Naperville.
Each group runs a little differently. Four go back over Sunday's passage, two are reading a book together, and two are organized by stage of life (young parents on Tuesdays, retirees on Thursday mornings). Every group eats together and prays for each other.
The list of groups, with nights and neighborhoods, is at the welcome table and on the back of the bulletin. You can join any time, though September and January are when most new people start.
Who runs it: Renee Park
Connections director (since 2022)
Renee is usually the first person a visitor meets. She reads every visit form, writes back herself, and is at the front door on Sundays from 9:30 in a green "First Visit" lanyard. She works half-time at Eight Oaks and spends the other half running a small bakery on Broadway, which is why there is usually something good next to the coffee.
