Our commitment
Eight Oaks Community Church is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, voice-control software, browser zoom, high-contrast mode, or assistive technologies we have not yet anticipated.
We design and build with the goal of meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at the AA level. We do not claim that this site fully meets WCAG 2.2 AA at all times. Accessibility is ongoing work, and we welcome feedback when we fall short.
Standards we follow
- WCAG 2.2 AA as a goal across all pages
- Semantic HTML (proper landmarks, headings, lists, form labels)
- Keyboard navigation for every interactive element
- ARIA practices for accordion, drawer, and form patterns
prefers-reduced-motionrespected (animations disabled when set)- Color contrast meeting AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components)
Known limitations
[Replace before launch with the customizer's actual known limitations after their accessibility self-audit.] Examples might include: third-party embeds (e.g., a giving processor) whose accessibility we do not control; PDFs posted by the organization that have not yet been remediated; specific browser versions on legacy devices.
In-person accessibility
[Master template includes this section because t03 organizations meet in physical spaces. Hedged: do not list features the customizer has not personally verified.] Our meeting space at 418 Halvorsen Street, Aurora, IL 60505 has [accessibility features TBD, confirm before publishing]. If you need accommodations to attend in person, please email us in advance at hello@eightoaks.example and we will arrange whatever is reasonable.
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this site or in our space, please contact us at hello@eightoaks.example. We treat accessibility feedback seriously, investigate quickly, and follow up with what we found and what we plan to do.
We read every message and reply within 2 business days.
