Eight Oaks Kids
Eight Oaks Kids runs for the whole 10am service in the lower-level wing. Check in at the first table inside the front door. You and your child get matching tags, and only the adult holding the tag can pick up, unless you have told Maria in writing that someone else will.
The nursery (birth to age 2) is mostly play, songs and a snack. The preschool room adds a short Bible story with pictures. Kindergarten to fifth grade hear the same story, talk about it, and make something with their hands: last month it was paper fish for the story of Jonah.
Kids ask big questions, and the volunteers answer them as simply as they can. If something comes up that you should know about, Maria will mention it at pickup.
Your child can also sit with you in the service. Lots of families do that for the first few weeks.
Who runs it: Maria Delgado
Eight Oaks Kids director (since 2019)
Maria taught kindergarten in Aurora for eleven years before she took over Eight Oaks Kids. She writes the volunteer rota, picks the lessons, and runs the background checks for every adult who works with children here. She is at the check-in table most Sundays from 9:45. Her two children are now in the Wednesday youth group.
